What is physical therapy?

Is defined as the evaluation, treatment or prevention of disability, injury, disease, or other condition of health using physical, chemical, and mechanical means including, but not limited to heat, cold, light, air, water, sound, electricity, massage, mobilization, and therapeutic exercise with or without assistive devices, and the performance and interpretation of tests and measurements to assess pathophysiological, pathomechanical, and developmental deficits of human systems to determine treatment, and assist in diagnosis and prognosis. What do I need to bring on my first visit?

You have to bring a prescription for physical therapy from your doctor and your insurance card.

Do you accept Worker's compensation and No-Fault insurance?

Yes, we accept Worker's compensation and No-Fault insurance. For Worker's Compensation, you have tobring the case number and the case manager's information. For No-Fault, you have to bring your autoinsurance information and a copy of police report. If you have no prescription for physical therapy we will schedule you to see our medical doctor.

Can I see the physical therapist directly without prescription?

Yes, with the recent passage of the Direct Access you can now see the physical therapist directly without a referral from your doctor for 10 visits or 30 days which ever comes first.

What should I wear?

I recommend a comfortable and loose clothing so it is easy for you to perform the exercises.

Do I have to make an appointment to see the physical therapist?

Yes, you have to make an appointment to see our physical therapist. We are open 6 days a week. You can always call us to schedule your appointments. If you walk-in and the physical therapist has an available time we are more than happy to take care of you.

How long is the treatment session?

Each case is different but on average it takes 30 minutes. Additional time may be added as you progress to a more active treatment (exercises).
